ADHD Coaching Approach

Discovering I have ADHD wasn’t just the beginning of changing how I felt about myself but also the first step in learning navigate a world designed for and inhabited by people with normally (neurotypical) wired brains.

The reason why many approaches to managing ADHD symptoms have not worked is because they view the ADHD brain as deficit-based. Help has focused on turning us into neurotypicals. It doesn’t work. Your ADHD brain is wired differently from others and so the typical strategies and tactics for enhancing performance often don’t work.

ADHD Coaching

Depending on your needs, in ADHD coaching some of the areas we’ll cover include:

  1. Discovering how your ADHD mind works (why you act, think and feel like you do)
  2. Unpacking those challenges at home, school or work that you feel are holding you back
  3. Uncovering your unique strengths and skills, and how to work around your weaknesses
  4. Exploring tools, tips and life hacks that have worked for others with ADHD
  5. Experimenting with and choosing what works best for you

I have two coaching structures when working with ADHD clients:

  1. If you’re feeling overwhelmed with ADHD then we’ll work through all five areas and work towards empowering you with the tools you need to thrive. Ultimately, we’ll create new strategies and habits, and help you write your personal owner’s manual, one that works for you and sets you up for success
  2. If you’re generally doing okay but feel that you could benefit from help with a few specific areas or to achieve specific goals, or need someone to you need to talk to when you need help, then we’ll focus on what you’re struggling with at the moment.

I’d love to work with you
